If You Can See it - You Can Be It : Visibility & Representation in Surgery

Date:

Time:

Cost: £2.50/ free

An event for medical students interested in exploring a career in surgery. Not sure if it’s for you? Come along and find out!

Join us at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for an exciting afternoon of surgical speakers, many of which are from traditionally underrepresented groups in surgery. The event will address some of the “myths” and concerns many face when considering surgical careers including, maternity/childcare/caring, sexism, racism, disability, and surgical culture.

Alongside hearing from our speakers, you’ll learn about available support, career advice and have the opportunity to network with surgeons from a wide range of surgical specialities.

The event will take place on the campus of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh with free access to Surgeons’ Hall Museums on the day of the event. To those further afield, you can also join the event online.

Tickets are £2.50 for in person attendees and free for online attendees.

Booking essential. Please email museum@rcsed.ac.uk to secure your place
