Barbers' Box

This box was presented to the Society of Barbers on the 22nd May 1724 by John Easton for the safe preservation of their documents. In the early history of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh the incorporation included Barbers and Surgeons. The Barbers separated in 1722. The original documents that were held in this box can be found in our archives.
