Opening Hours & Admission

Surgeons' Hall Museums are open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm. Booking is not required to visit the museum.  

Last admission is at 4.30pm, although we would advise visitors take at least two hours to view the collections. 

No photography is permitted in the Museums.

The museum contains human remains which some people may find upsetting. The recommended age for visiting the Museums is 10+. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

There is no pre-booking system in place for standard museum visits. Tickets are available on arrival. If you would like to book our Blood and Guts walking tour you can do so here (please note tours only run on Saturdays and Sundays).


Standard Admission 2026
  • Adults - £10.00
  • Students with valid ID - £6.50
  • NHS staff with valid ID* - £6.50
  • Over 60s - £6.50
  • Visitors with disabilities- £6.50
  • Child (5-15)- £5.50
  • Under 5s - Free

*Valid NHS staff ID must be provided. We do not accept Blue Light Cards.

Carers/ Personal Assistants supporting visitors with disabilities go free.

Family Ticket
  • 2 Adults & 2 Children- £25
  • 2 Adults & 1 Child- £21
  • 1 Adult & 2 Children- £17

Season Ticket (valid for 12 months)
  • Adults- £26
  • Concession (under 16, students, 60+, NHS staff)- £15


Christmas Closure

The museum will close at 5pm on Wednesday the 23rd of December and will reopen at 10am on Tuesday the 5th of January 2027.
