Opening Hours & Admission

Surgeons' Hall Museums are open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm. Booking is not required to visit the museum.  

Last admission is at 4.30pm, although we would advise visitors take at least two hours to view the collections. 

No photography is permitted in the Museums.

The museum contains human remains which some people may find upsetting. The recommended age for visiting the Museums is 10+. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

The museum will close at 5pm on Monday the 23rd of December and will reopen at 10am on Friday the 3rd of January 2025. 



Standard Admission 2024
  • Adults - £9.50
  • Students with valid ID - £6.00
  • NHS staff with valid ID* - £6.00
  • Over 60s - £6.00
  • Visitors with disabilities- £6.00
  • Child (5-17)- £5.00
  • Under 5s - Free

*Valid NHS staff ID must be provided. We do not accept Blue Light Cards.

Carers/ Personal Assistants supporting visitors with disabilities go free.

Family Ticket
  • 2 Adults & 2 Children- £24
  • 2 Adults & 1 Child- £20
  • 1 Adult & 2 Children- £16

Season Ticket (valid for 12 months)
  • Adults- £25
  • Concession (under 16, students, 60+, NHS staff)- £14


Christmas Closure

The museum will close at 5pm on Monday the 23rd of December and will reopen at 10am on Friday the 3rd of January 2025.
