COVID-19 Update 18/03/2020

18 March 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will be closing Surgeons' Hall Museums at the end of operating hours today (Wednesday the 18th of March) until further notice.

Due to the current pandemic RCSED has decided to cancel all events and as a result, all museum events up until the end of April have been cancelled. This includes

  • RCSEd Library and Archive Present: Rare Books and Restoration
  • A Model Education Curator Tours (in both April and May)
  • Anatomical Modelling workshop
  • Blood and Guts: The Twists and Turns of Edinburgh's Medical History walking tours.
Ticket holders for any of these cancelled events will receive automatic refunds.

At the moment, apart from our curator tours, both the events we have scheduled for May are still going ahead. If this changes then we will notify ticket holders in due course.

The museum was due to participate in Edinburgh Science Festival with our 'Let's Look at the Heart' dissection workshops. As the Science Festival has been cancelled, these workshops will also not go ahead. The Science Festival will be issuing refunds to ticket holders.

We apologise for any inconvenience these closures and cancellations may cause.

Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon.
