The 2023 Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh School Christmas Lecture will take place on Wednesday the 29th of November at 2pm. This is a free event aimed at S4+.
This year we will be joined by the Kids Operating Room (KidsOR).
KidsOR is a global health charity focused entirely on changing this reality through the provision of high quality, safe surgical services for children in low- and middle-income countries.
Join David Cunningham - CEO of Kids Operating Room - as we delve into the remarkable journey of this Scottish Charity. In just five short years, they have brought life-saving and life-changing surgical interventions to over 100,000 children.Featuring a special appearance from KidsOR’s in-house Biomedical Engineer, Courtney Ludick.
Chief Executive David Cunningham has led children’s charities for over a decade, and, with Co-Founders Gareth & Nicola Wood, was inspired to start Kids Operating Room after witnessing the devastating consequences of the global crisis in children’s surgery at a hospital in Uganda.
As a psychology graduate with a keen interest in early-years development, David has championed holistic centres of excellence that do more than just provide safe spaces for children’s surgery.
