THIS TALK IS SOLD OUT!

'I had no idea that such individuals did exist out of stories'. Dr A Watson "A Study in Scarlet"

Our Curator returns to further investigate Edinburgh's 19th century 'medical detectives' and their influence on Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous character, Sherlock Holmes. Delve into many of the real crimes which took place in Edinburgh and cast a spotlight on men tasked with solving the case. We look at the increasing abilities of medical witnesses to prove murder and why the Edinburgh criminal scene provided such rich material for Conan Doyle.

The talk will last approximately an hour and the Museum will be open until 9pm for ticket holders only.
