Surgeons' Hall Museums to Host to a New Mothers' Assembly

14 March 2019
Are you a new mum?

Would you like to take part in art sessions and join in a friendly social group to talk about the early stages of motherhood with other new mothers?

Surgeons' Hall Museum and artist Lyndsay Mann are looking for new mothers to participate in New Mothers’ Assembly: a series of 6 weekly meetings that will explore women’s history of childbirth in response to contemporary experiences of new motherhood.

We are looking for first-time mothers with a child less than one year old.

There will be 6 weekly meetings for mother and baby.

Thursday 12pm – 2pm

Beginning Thursday 25 April until Thursday 30 May 2019.

Session will take place at Surgeons’ Hall Museum, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9DW.

Sessions will be fun, relaxed and provide a welcome environment for new mums and their babies. There will be hands-on creative activities but no previous artistic experience is required. There will be opportunities to explore the Museum’s archives and collections. Qualified child-minders will be present at sessions for mums who wish to enjoy a hot drink and a break.
