Surgical Skills Simulator donated to Museums

20 October 2016

Chris Henry, Director of Heritage at Surgeons’ Hall Museums, met with Simon Humphrey-Adam, Commercial Director of EO Surgical and Hannah O’Donnell, Operations Manager today to receive a donation of a surgical simulator. The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh uses simulators such as this to train surgeons who are learning how to perform laparoscopic surgery.

This simulator allows the user to test how skilful they are at using tools remotely.  Instead of a camera inside the simulator it uses mobile technology to give the person a view of their work.  This means they can take a photo when they have successfully achieved a task. EO Surgical aim to make surgery safer globally by improving surgical skills. You can find out more about their products and their mission statement on their website.
