Join Surgeons' Hall Museums Human Remains Conservator, Cat Irving for our new 3 part talk series Adventures in Anatomy

Adventures in Anatomy Part 2: Reproductive Organs is the second talk in the series which will explore different parts of the body, looking at the way our understanding of them has changed through time, and the part they play in culture and the way we look at the world. Each part of the series has to be booked individually and can be enjoyed as an individual talk or as part of the series if you wish to book all three.

                                              REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS

Our genitals are usually hidden away, and words describing them are often considered the most offensive in our culture. They have been grossly misunderstood through history yet without them we wouldn't be here. Lifting the fig leaf to discover where the womb was wandering to, why the castrati had such high voices, and why a woman shouldn't touch a pickle when she has her period.

The talk will last approximately an hour and the museum will be open until 9pm for ticket holders only.
