Adventures In Anatomy Skin Online
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT AND A WAITING LIST HAS BEEN OPENED

Join Surgeons' Hall Museums Human Remains Conservator, Cat Irving, for our new 3 part talk series Adventures in Anatomy.

Adventures in Anatomy part 3: Skin
is the third talk in the series which will explore different parts of the body, looking at the way our understanding of them has changed through time, and the part they play in culture and the way we look at the world. Each part of the series has to be booked individually and can be enjoyed as an individual talk or as part of the series if you wish to book all three.

                                                               SKIN

Our skin is how we present ourselves to the outside world. People spend a fortune decorating it and trying to stop the signs of the inevitable progression of time. It also works hard as a formidable barrier between our inner organs doing their essential jobs, and the hazards of the germ-filled world outside. Learn more about anthropodermic bibliopegy, how we make permanent marks on our skin, and the host of creatures who make the outer surface of our bodies their home.

The talk will last approximately an hour and the Museum will be open until 9pm for ticket holders only.
