Poor And The Dead Psd

THIS TALK IS NOW SOLD OUT.

Back by popular demand!

After its sell out success in January, we are delighted to reprogramme this talk from our 2019 #SpeakToTheSpecialist series. #SpeakToTheSpecialist is a series of intimate talks delivered by specialists who work behind the scenes at Surgeons' Hall Museums.

The story of Burke and Hare and the murders they committed in the streets of Edinburgh is well known, but what came after? Join the museums Human Remains Conservator, Cat Irving, to discover how their crimes led to the Anatomy Act of 1832, and changed the way medicine was taught in Britain.

Cat has worked in preserving human and animal tissue for 16 years, and has previously worked on the anatomical and pathological collections of Glasgow University and the Hunterian Museum.

The talk will last about 60mins and the Museums will be open for viewing until 9pm for ticket holders only.
