Edinburgh Napier University, Sighthill Campus - outreach exhibition & talk programme

Date(s): 8 September 2014 - 30 September 2014

Cost: Free

From the 8th - 30th September, Surgeons' Hall Museum, in partnership with Edinburgh University will bring it's touring exhibition ‘Words and Deeds, Weapons and Wounding’ to Edinburgh Napier University, Sighthill Campus in Edinburgh.

The University of Edinburgh’s exhibition ‘Words and Deeds: Women, Warfare and Caregiving’ explores the often neglected and understated story of women in warfare and was hosted at Surgeons’ Hall Museum during 2013. Subsequently, a new exhibition has been developed by Surgeons’ Hall Museum to be displayed in conjunction with the original exhibition.  ‘Weapons and Wounding’ will highlight the severity of injuries women in warfare would have dealt with, exploring the progression of weaponry and the ever increasing need for new medical and surgical techniques to cope with wounding in warfare.

The exhibition and associated activities are free of charge. Selected activities will be taking place at the venue. Please contact the venue for more information.
